Moonlight Runner Bean Seeds

Moonlight Runner Beans showcase profuse white blossoms, transitioning to smooth, very fleshy, stringless pods of up to 25cm long. The plants climb to a height of 3m with a spread of 30cm, exhibiting a vigorous, twining growth habit.

Known for a true runner bean taste, Moonlight's stringless pods lend themselves to a variety of culinary uses. They can be chopped and added to salads or cooked in other dishes. Notably, they retain a great texture and flavour upon cooking.

This variety is hailed for its high yield and the ability to continuously produce even in poor weather conditions. The beans, reaching approximately 23cm long, can be harvested from July to September.

It's a climbing type of plant requiring support from canes, strings, or netting, resembling the growth patterns of climbing French beans.

Bred for the British climate, Moonlight thrives in full to partial sun, in well-drained, fertile soil, and requires protection from strong winds.

The predominantly self-setting characteristic ensures a reliable crop even during adverse weather conditions, making it a substantial choice for consistent yield.

Sowing can commence indoors from mid-April or directly outdoors from late May to early July. Adequate spacing, regular watering, bi-weekly feeding during mid-summer, and support provision are crucial for optimal growth and yield.
